Wolfson Applied Technology Laboratory

Wolfson Laboratories has been a multidisciplinary laboratory since its inception in 1972. Wolfson Applied Technology Laboratory (WATL) disciplines include Clinical/Biochemistry and Engineering. Our main work has been in clinical diagnostics. Achievements include the development and commercialisation of Enhanced Chemiluminescence. More recently our work has concentrated on near patient testing. One aspect of this work includes the evaluation of glucose meters for the Department of Heath. A second aspect is the development of novel, rapid assay, single use, non- instrumental devices.

In addition to in-house and evaluation projects, WATL undertake contract research from industry and from academic departments from within and outside the University.
